Indictment: Strip club trip among bribes to sell faulty grenades
Source: CNN

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A Georgia military contractor tricked law enforcement agencies into buying faulty stun grenades, ultimately leaving three FBI agents seriously injured, federal prosecutors announced Monday.

Pyrotechnic Specialties Inc. is accused of re-labeling and selling "flashbang" grenades that the U.S. military rejected after its personnel were injured.

Last week's indictment alleges that company officials bribed a federal official and paid for a visit to a strip club. The officials are accused of conspiracy, money laundering, mail fraud and defrauding the government.

The company, known as PSI, did not immediately respond to calls for comment.

PSI's "flashbang" grenades were re-labeled and sold to police after the Navy deemed them faulty, an indictment says.

9. This is used to prevent death

by law enforcement and in place of the ever effective fragmentation grenade. Some times police deal with people who do not just volunteer to surrender after committing murder, etc.

EDIT: police do not use hand grenades, but flash bang devices can be used instead of outright lethal force.

In infantry roles this would be used in place of a grenade when the occupants of a room were valuable enough to capture rather than kill.

5. I find it somewhat amusing that "flashbang" and "stripclubs" are
used in the same story...:D

What is not amusing is that these people defrauded the government once again, selling knowingly faulty devices to the FBI & other government entities. I am willing to wager a princely sum that these people are also "flag lapel wearing patriots" who think that the GOP is the only answer to the nation's ills.

I have to wonder if they are convicted, will bush pardon those who are more than willing to offload defective devices to the military and the government? If he does, why does he hate America?

6. Imagine you're agent Mike and you've grabbed a couple of flashbang grenades on your way to the bad
guys' hangout, and without warning, your flashbang grenades go off sitting on the seat next to you.

That's the defect they're talking about.

7. Yeah, but instead of relying on lawsuits and legislation, shouldn't Market Forces settle this?
I'm being sarcastic.

10. I believe they are talking about
part of the grenade becoming a projectile and blinding , you while holding a crack whore at gun point after shooting at police or blinding you after being compelled to capture and arrest a guy holding a crack whore hostage. Either way being stunned vs injured is a difference.

The military would only use this when capturing people, else a regular fragmentation grenade would do the job, kill and stun everyone in a room allowing them to be shot anyway.
