Ballot bubble may baffle
By E-R Staff
Article Launched: 02/05/2008 11:22:10 AM PST

The lay out of the paper ballots in today's election may be causing confusion among some voters.
Voters are noticing that the fill-in bubble associated with a candidate's name is offset, which could possibly cause a mistaken vote.

The fill-in bubble is slightly lower than the candidate's name.

Butte County Clerk/Recorder Candace Grubbs, who is also the county's chief elections officer, said the off-set of bubble and name is the result of the way the ballots have to be designed.

..snip

Grubbs said each precinct, besides the paper ballots, also has one touch-screen machine. If the voter is fearful of confusion, he or she can opt to use the touch screen.

2. "By design," and the only alternative is touch-screen
Wow, they don't even bother hiding the fraud anymore, do they? :eyes:

3. Great! Design a defective paper ballot. Then offer an electronic monster as an alternative.
I have used fill-in ballots in Texas; and the bubbles DO NOT HAVE TO BE offset from the candidates' names.

Bangor Trail Sample Ballot

There is absolutely no reason they had to be off-set. The Butte County Clerk is an idiot. She must think that the voters are that stupid to believe that statement.

she is IGNORANT and gullible

I just came back from voting and yes, names and bubbles are offset

There are about 1300 in my precinct, half voted absentee
no count from poll worker as to how many already voted in person

only ONE used the electronic voting machine
