Bush says Pakistan's Musharraf an ally
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush on Thursday called Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf an ally of the United States in fighting terrorism and said he should work with the winner of elections scheduled next month.

Pakistan postponed the general election to Feb. 18 from Jan. 8 after opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated last week.

"I think that whoever wins the election is somebody with whom President Musharraf should work, and of course we will be a strong ally of Pakistan," Bush said in a Reuters interview at the White House.

"I've always been a supporter of President Musharraf," he said, adding this was because the Pakistani leader has been strong in fighting terrorism and held to his pledge to step down from his military post and hold elections.

"He's an ally," Bush said.

...

Bush said the attack had "all the hallmarks" of how al Qaeda operates, but withheld judgment until the facts were determined.

12. it's so zany

did anyone else see Musharraf on the Jon Stewart Show a while back?

they had tea together, Musharraf was actually funny - i even kind of remember him making jibes on Bush.

it is hard to imagine that someone who could seem so civil would be the source of so much chaos, rancor, and hypocrisy :(

14. Sociopaths can often be quite charming. Sociopaths in politics, a gregarious calling
doubly so.

Don't be fooled. Not every monster is as obvious about it as the crumb-spewing Hitler. In fact, most of them aren't.

8. Biden actually said Musharraf is taking our money and giving it to the very
people -- Al Q -- that he's supposed to be fighting against!

If you want to know the truth about what's going on, listen to Biden.

9. With allies like Mushy
Who needs enemies.

Mushy turned over control of the Afghan border to the Taliban and the ISI is funding al-Qaeda factions.

10. Prolly refers to him on the side as
his mate President Busharraf.

"Witholding judgement" and saying "hallmarks of how al Qaeda operates" don't quite come together somehow or other.

13. Of course they are allies. Both murderous tyrants and enemies of democracy and liberty.

They both have murdered political opponents and shed crocodile tears afterwards.

Truly a match made in the Bushie Wing of Hell, which is already large and undoubtedly will be largher as soon as this generation of Bushie monsters passes away.
