Blackwater guards pumped on steroids, lawsuit alleges
Source: CNN

Story Highlights
- Lawsuit filed in U.S. court by families of Iraqis killed, wounded in Baghdad shooting
- Suit accuses Blackwater of fostering "culture of lawlessness"
- A quarter of Blackwater guards used steroids, suit claims
- Blackwater says steroid use against company policy, anyone using would be fired

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A quarter of Blackwater security guards in Iraq use steroids and other "judgment-altering substances," according to a lawsuit filed by the families of several Iraqis killed or wounded in a Baghdad shooting in September.

Blackwater denies the charges.

The suit, filed Monday in Washington, accuses the company of fostering "a culture of lawlessness" among its guards and says the use of excessive force helps the company preserve a key selling point -- the fact that none of its protectees have been killed during the four-year-old war.

"I think there is a whole corporate culture there that essentially rewards the use of excessive force -- shooting first, asking questions later," said Susan Burke, the lead attorney in the case.

2. Roid rage has never been shown to exist
It's on a par with reefer madness.

5. The late Lyle Alzado might disagree
As might the late David Benoit.

6. Alzado decided on his own that his tumor was due to steroids
That was his opinion, unsupported by anything.

That's also a very different matter from "roid rage".

12. it could just be the personality type, but as someone who was in the weightlifting arena for years..
I can tell you that you can spot the guys juicing from the door...not just their physique, but their whole demeanor. There is a huge incidence of spousal abuse.Like I said-it could just be the people drawn into that field.

13. That would make sense...from the guys I've had the displeasure of dealing with
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 01:31 PM by YOY
-Ultra-aggressive and unnecessarily competitive.

-Butting into friendly conversations with unfriendly words.

-Rude to both sexes and itching to fight with male or dominate female.

-Submissive or possibly abused into submission girlfriend possibly in tow.

Personality would explain it but with the confidence from the roids to push the aggression to forefront. Am I off the mark?

15. Did you go to high school with football players?
We had one who had a roid rage moment in class one day. He leaped over two rows of desks and grabbed a kid in a headlock and wrestled him to the floor, all the while screaming, "Stop staring at me!" The kid had been looking out the window, the one the football player (well known to be on steroids) was sitting next to.

The player was even friends with that kid and seemed to kind of snap out of it when the teacher told him to let the kid go. All of a sudden looking around with a dazed look on his face and then going red and letting his friend go.

It happened right in front of me. Scary.

8. You beat me to it. Hell, our Amermacht guys take meth to stay awake
It's govvie-meth, costing taxpayers millions upon million for these little pick me ups, and you would have to be nuts to think a lawless mercenary force doesn't abuse those same drugs but much worse, for they are bound by no law.

9. Blackwater denies it all, of course.
They lost all their credibility with the shooting fiasco.
