Bush Says Clinton Will Be Dem Nominee
Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, breaking his rule not to talk about presidential politics, says he believes Hillary Rodham Clinton will defeat Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primaries. Bush also predicts that Clinton will be defeated in the general election by the Republican nominee.

"I believe our candidate can beat her but it's going to be a tough race," the president said.

It has been difficult for Bush to remain silent about the 2008 president race, despite his promises not to be the "prognosticator in chief." He has been talking about the race and handicapping candidates during off-the-record chats with visitors to the White House.

He finally went public with his Clinton prediction in an interview for a book by Bill Sammon, a reporter for The Washington Examiner.

4. I think he is correct
for one time in his life except that I don't think it will be a "tough" race. Whoever their nominee is they will beat Hillary like a drum. :-(

8. I think you are wrong. If they nominate thompson or romney, they will lose big time
no matter who our nominee is

if they nominate guilliani, it will be close, no matter who our nominee is

9. just like he knew he had othing to worry about in the 2004 election when he said that he would win
those elections. he knew what the machines were programmed to do. he knows what the machines are programmed to do in the run-up to the white house ... he knows the machines are programmed to give the 2008 election to a republican, that is why he says she will win the democratic nomination but lose the election. bush knows what those machines are programmed to do.

13. Errrr........
A big Roswell and JKF conspiracy fan are you? The election was lost in part due to disenfranchisement of black voters, and the repubs getting state initiatives regarding same-sex marriage on the ballots to drive out the base.

16. She is the MSM anointed one (all genuflect) - they, and corporate America,
are dying to have her run.

The story writes itself, "Ex first lady, first woman, Bill Clinton, blah blah blah."

Perfect for lazy ass journalists.

17. Seems obvious
They have a bunch of duds running in the Republic campaign, no one is very excited about them. They won't get the GOP vote out to elect any of them but they will get the voters out to vote AGAINST Hillary. She's nothing if not polarizing. Well, and phony.
