HIGHLAND FALLS - Vice President Dick Cheney's address Saturday at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point graduation drew protests - and counterprotests - on the village green about a half mile outside the military base.
About 300 people called for an end to the war in Iraq and, some of them, for the impeachment of President Bush and Cheney.
"It's an unjust war," said Wayne Umstetter of Port Chester, Westchester County. "We have to work for peace and pray for peace. War is not the answer."
Umstetter was among those in the Orange County Peace and Justice Coalition who traveled to Highland Falls to protest Cheney's appearance at West Point.
