Explosions in Baghdad kill at least 12

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Two rockets hit a Shiite enclave in southern Baghdad on Sunday, killing at least 10 people and injuring eight, police said.

Earlier, an explosion near the fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad killed at least two people and injured eight.

The blast was close to the Iranian Embassy, but authorities did not initially believe it was targeting the compound. The Green Zone houses the U.S. and British embassies and key offices of the Iraqi government.

Mortars crash into Baghdad market

BAGHDAD, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Mortars crashed into a market in a Shi'ite area in southern Baghdad on Sunday and there were conflicting reports about casualties, police said.

One police source said 10 people were killed in the attack in the Abu Dsher area of Doura neighbourhood, but two other police sources said no more than three people had been wounded.
