NKorea on "war footing" over US attacks (AFP)
(Well, so much for our great "diplomatic breakthrough.")

NKorea on "war footing" over US attacks

16/02/2007 06h30

SEOUL (AFP) - North Korea has said it will maintain its war mobilisation posture against feared US attacks, despite this week's deal aimed at dismantling its nuclear weapons programmes.

In a joint letter to leader Kim Jong-Il to congratulate him on his 65th birthday, state media said the communist country's party, government, military and people vowed to follow Kim's guidance to build a "powerful socialist state."

"The whole People's Army soldiers and the people will maintain war preparedness to the full, to deal with US imperialists' manoeuvres for agression," said the letter, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

"If the enemies dare ignite the fire of war, we will mobilise all our powerful combat potential, built up through the maelstrom of Songun (army-first) revolution, mercilessly crush the enemies and achieve the historic task of national unification," it said.

1. Um, but we haven't attacked...
Kim is, of course, still insane, but you're title acts if we attacked NK today or something. A communist nation, especially North Korea, standing on "war footing" doesn't real surprise me.

Kim is giving in to world demands and is trying to appear to be the "Dear Leader" with an iron fist still. It is projection. They aren't going to do anything at this point unless we act first.

4. It's not MY "title," it's the headline that AFP chose to put on the article.
I caught my eye too, but rules are rules.

And as to "...acts if we attacked NK today or something...." Well, that debatable and depends on your perspective.

We didn't attack NKorea Physically today, but we ARE constantly attacking them verbally, by calling them part of the "Axis of Evil" and then there was that A-hole, FORMER U.N. Ambassador John Bolton this week, still spitting his venom at NKorea, and even though I don't know exactly what he said today while speaking at AEI, I'm sure our so-called pResident launched a few nasty verbal attacks today at NKorea. He wouldn't let that sort of opportunity slip by.

So yes, he most likely IS crazy, but he's "Dear Leader" to his people, so the constant verbal attack against a Communist leader with a "Personality Cult," who requires his people to refer to him as Dear Leader I'm sure feels almost a bad to Kim as any physical attack.

5. Why do we still label North Korea as a "communist" nation?
There's nothing "communist" about it. North Korea is a military totalitarian state.

6. Well Duhhhh
"They aren't going to do anything unless we act first" Have they ever? You must remember that the Korean Conflict came about because of WW II and the way the Japanese divided their country. Before WW II maybe you can tell us about how aggressive Korea was and how many countries they attacked and occupied. They are such an aggressive nation after all just as Iran is....

2. Sounds like a bellicose version of "Happy Birthday, Dear Leader."
That aside, it's the usual North Korean bluster.

7. Kim is prepping his nation for his "glorious announcement"
He once again forced the west to pay tribute to his 'awesomeness' by agreeing to his "more than fair and generous" demands

LOL
