Democrats launch new Foley offensive against Republicans

POSTED: 1:57 p.m. EDT, October 7, 2006

Story Highlights
• NEW: Democrats' radio address attacks GOP on integrity
• Candidate Wetterling: House leaders ignored Foley's 'predatory signals'
• Wetterling pushed child protection laws; son disappeared 17 years ago
• Bush does not mention Foley in Saturday radio address

(CNN) -- Democrats used the Foley scandal to turn up the heat on Republicans on Saturday, a month before congressional elections that put control of the House and Senate at stake.

The Democrats devoted their weekly radio address to the matter, accusing the Republican leaders in the House of ignoring then-Rep. Mark Foley's "obvious predatory signals" in order "to protect their political power."

Foley, who quit as a Florida representative last month, is said to have sent sex messages over the Internet to teenage boys who had been congressional pages. Republican leaders, including Speaker Dennis Hastert, are accused of knowing about Foley's behavior and not stopping it.

Patty Wetterling, a candidate for a U.S. House seat whose own son Jacob was kidnapped when he was 11 and never seen again, spoke on behalf of the Democrats.

"We need to stop the sexual exploitation of children across the country, and in Washington we must hold accountable all those complicit in allowing this victimization to happen," said Wetterling, a Minnesota child safety advocate .....................

1. Repubs DO NOT DESERVE ANOTHER CHANCE!!
They fucked up protecting children. One strike and you're OUT when it comes to protecting children. We cannot afford to listen to their bullshit and take the chance that they will fuck up again. And they are not even taking responsibility for their fuck up to begin with.

4. If you're a Democrat.....
you want this Mark Foley thing to just play on and on and on......like the Energizer Bunny. Right now, it looks like it will last right through November 7.

You KNOW that Turd Blossom would make that happen if it was a GOP winner. So, go, go, go....the more it gets talked about the more the GOP is awkwardly on the defensive and cast in a bad light.

Payback really IS a bitch, isn't it?
