White House expects criminal Foley probe
Oct 1, 2006

WASHINGTON - The White House and Democratic leaders in Congress called Sunday for a criminal probe into former Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record)'s electronic messages to teenage boys — a lurid scandal that has put House Republicans in political peril.

White House counselor Dan Bartlett called the allegations against Foley shocking. He said
President Bush hadn't learned of Foley's inappropriate e-mails to a 16-year-old boy and instant messages to other boys before the news broke last week.

Bartlett said House leaders were pursuing the matter aggressively enough that an independent outside investigation was not warranted. "There is going to be, I'm sure, a criminal investigation into the particulars of this case," he said. "We need to make sure that the page system is one in which children come up here and can work and make sure that they are protected."

I don't think I want to touch this headline with a ten foot probe.

1. "an independent outside investigation was not needed." which is exactly
why we need an immediate independent outside investigation.

this is a perfect example of what the Democratic leadership needs to be jumping on. scream it from the hill!

5. Yeah, we'll just let Al's Justice Dept. do it...
That will be a *real* fair & balanced investigation.

2. The WH calls it "shocking!"
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 05:15 PM by 8_year_nightmare
See the list of 46, now 47, Republican Pedophiles here.

Shocking!

And here is an updated list, which includes Foley.

What is it about Republicans, who dare to call themselves "protectors" of children & the "party of family values" while they secretly, dementedly desire sex with children?!

"Republican director of the "Young Republican Federation" Nicholas
Elizondo molested his 6-year old daughter and was sentenced to six years
in prison."

4. secretly? he sounded pretty forward in his explicit IMs to pages.
this certainly isn't about us being "thought police". when you ask someone who is underage things like "what are you wearing?" and "do i turn you on?" it's pretty clear the thought is out of your head and on the screen.

i bet a lot of psychologists are looking at this story and putting together a pretty neat package of mental problems Foley has. look at the bills he helped write and get passed... they will be used to prosecute him. he had "intimage knowledge" of the very type of mindset these criminals have, but instead of keeping it inside his head where it belonged, he used his power to manipulate children.

sad as it is to say, this is a great week for us in the run up to the elections. the 'thugs couldn't have picked a better time to shoot themselves in the groin.

11. Well...
I meant "secretly" with regard to how their demented pursuits are viewed by society.

And, yes, it's always a good week when their hypocrisy is exposed. :)

7. My suspicion is that the neocons recruit and support people that
they can forever blackmail.

What other possible explanation could there be as to why McCain endorsed last week's Military Commisions Act ... the one that suspended habeas corpus and legalized torture?

:wtf:

9. I think you are onto something. It gives them secret control.
NO WONDER they ALWAYS vote the party line and NEVER show any independent spirit. Maybe half of them are scared to death their little secrets will come out.

10. I agree blackmail is the centerpiece tactic for the 'thugs, especially in
McCain's case...

But when it comes to their sick fetish for little boys & girls, I think it may have something to do with self-loathing. As hard as they work to create a superior "family values" image for themselves, they seem to be exactly what they claim to despise.

:hi:

6. Gee, the White House is all about an investigation
When it's not their criminality being investigated. I wonder why that is?
