Iraqis´view on 9/11 attacks

<snip>

One citizen said, "The main objective of the 911 attacks was the control of fuel and other resources, the creation of new markets in which to sell the goods of the capitalist countries, as well as the exploitation of our riches. That was the main reason for this operation."

Others are questioning the ramifications of the attacks.

One resident said, "It is true that 3,600 or 4,000 people died and U.S. economy was hurt. But it has benefited from the event at the expense of the American people and the Islamic world because the U.S. administration took it as a pretext to hit Afghanistan and target Iraq."

One Iraqi politician has given a harsh assessment.

Saleh Al–Mutlaq, Iraqi Sunni Mp said, "Anyone who believes that weapons of mass destruction were the reason for Iraq's invasion is mistaken because the U.S.administration has discovered that there are no weapons of mass destruction. Anyone who believes that the reason was a link between the regime and al-Qaida is also mistaken because the absence of a connection has been proven by the U.S. administration itself."

The Sunni Member of Parliament also says the evidence shows that Iraqis have NOT achieved true democracy. And five years on, it is hard to say -- if -- or when -- they ever will.

"Iraqis have NOT achieved true democracy. And five years on, it is hard to say -- if -- or when -- they ever will." Good work, sabra. This needs to be in front of people.

3. Growing up, everyone in my family was connected to the oil business
Unca Dik is in charge of all the neocon crap. B*** was elected to drive up the price of oil & gas, period. Now that oil is up (temporarily down until after the upcoming election) have you noticed how we are finding "new" sources of oil in abandoned oilfields here in the states and in the Gulf of Mexico? I'm not surprised at all. The difference now is that with oil pushing a hundred bucks a barrel, American companies will begin to explore again. By the time he leaves office his true mission of driving prices at the gas pump up around $5-$6 a gallon will be accomplished. He will deliver for his true constituency.

4. I have a long record of working in the oil&gas industry,
being from Oklahoma and having worked on the TransAlaska Pipeline Project -- it was called TAPS in the beginning.

I totally agree with you. All the BFEE's Big Oil pals are very happy indeed.

A friend emailed me recently about a VERY big "new" find in the Gulf -- and I'm talking a really massive undersea motherload. Marathon. Nothing I've seen in the last five years has swayed me from the opinion I had in 1999 that the Chimp's backers had big plans for boosting the profits for those who have secretly controlled our world for a very long time.

5. A map of that lode showed up in the NY Times this morning
Would you be shocked if I told you that the undersea motherload was discovered in an area covered by leases that are exempt from realistic royalties because of a contractual glitch? If I knew how, I'd post a link for you.

That's OK. 230 years later the US hasn't managed it yet, either.
