Several killed in Afghan violence
Ten Taleban fighters and a Nato soldier have been killed in separate incidents in southern Afghanistan, officials say.

The rebels were killed on Wednesday in Helmand province, police say.

The Nato soldier died in Kandahar province early on Thursday when a bomb hit his vehicle. Another Nato soldier was wounded, the alliance said.

Their nationalities have not been disclosed. UK and Canadian-led Nato forces took control of military operations in the south this week.

1. Southern Afghanistan is turning into a real mess.
The NATO troops get to face:

1. The Taliban resurgent
2. Al Qaeda resurgent
3. Opium drug lords
4. Opium drug lords in the Karzai government
5. Pissed off, desperate peasants whose only cash crop is opium, which NATO wants to destroy

900 dead in the south in the last three months, including dozens of US and NATO soldiers.

Good luck, guys. You're going to need it.
