Ariel Sharon in health emergency

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who has been in a coma for the past six months, has been taken to an emergency room.

The Sheba hospital near Tel Aviv said Mr Sharon, 78, was being treated with antibiotics and was having fluids drained from his body.

Doctors said his condition had deteriorated seriously at the weekend.

But a spokesman said his condition had remained stable since then and his brain condition had not changed.

Mr Sharon fell into a coma after a massive brain haemorrhage in January.

I know that's kind of a selfish reason to ask someone to stay on this earth, but--please? For me? If they lose you now, which might make them feel that much more vulnerable, who knows how much worse the current crisis will get.

11. I wonder if the Isreali leadership started planning this thing before or

after Ariel Sharon fell into a coma. And I wonder if he wasn't on board with it. And I wonder if he was put into this coma by folks who wanted this invasion to take place.

Very shortly before his coma he was bringing Israelis back into Israel from the settlements (and the, very militant, settlers were very angry at Sharon for telling them that they had to leave their settlements outside of Israel, btw).

When Sharon went comotose I knew that something like this would break out soon after if he didn't recover. Sharon seemed to be willing to stand up to the total nutjobs in the Isreali government. This new guy Olbert seems like a wimp who is letting the neo-cons drag him into wars that will harm Israel for decades to come.
