Saddam Hussein taken to hospital

Iraq's former leader Saddam Hussein has been taken to hospital as a result
of a hunger strike, prosecutors at his trial in Baghdad say.

Saddam Hussein is thought to have begun refusing food on 7 July in protest
against the murder of his lawyer.

He and seven co-defendants are on trial charged with crimes against humanity.

"We took him to hospital and he is being currently fed by a tube," chief
prosecutor Jaafar al-Moussawi told the news agency Associated Press.

1. Put a tube in him and keep him alive
We must convict him right before the November election.

6. Maybe he'll mount a spectacular Hannibal Lecter-type escape.
I'd kind of like to see that, actually, just for the great headlines and the crazy uproar.

14. Yes, Dr. David Kelly
The only man in Britain to commit suicide by slashing his wrists laterally, which is apparently quite a feat without help.

13. Gee, any one of us who needs to go and we don't get news OR insurance
coverage.

Yet that filthy creep gets not only care, paid for by us, but free news coverage?

Give me strength.

Dead men may tell no tales, but imprisoned animals tend to make loud, frequent squawking noises. Why hasn't Saddist?

15. Relax, the Culture of Life is on it
I'm sure that Congress reconvene in the middle of the night to pass an emergency bill requiring Saddam get s feeding tube, then Bush with race in from Crawford to sign it.

16. they have to keep him alive in order to execute him?
there's just a little bit too much entertainment in executions these days. Let him die if he wants.
