Zarqawi: Skimpy clothes found
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was accompanied by women who wore skimpy clothes and read magazines on current affairs and militant propaganda, an inspection of the house he was killed in showed on Saturday.

Leopard skin nightgown

Beside the slabs of concrete was a woman's leopard skin nightgown and other skimpy women's clothes.

It said on Friday that a wounded Zarqawi was still alive when US troops reached the site but died shortly afterwards.

1. I'm sorry, does Islam have prohibitions against this INDOORS?
Seriously. I was under the impression that the idea was to stop women from tempting men outdoors and away from their husbands or whatever.

Having said that, I mean... even if completely true, this stuff's really, really cheap shots.

10. Islamic women are forbidden from having sex, ever
Didn't you know?

Only Western cultures have sex. Only Western women have desires. Only Westerners have orgasms and have fun in the bedroom. It's clear that if Islamic women are garbed up all day long, that they also have no sex, or very lame sex. Isn't it obvious?

11. 99.99% of everything about Zarqawi is psyops
I don't believe anything these liars tell me.

In 7 years (counting the campaign), the bush gang has not told the truth even once.

In my lifetime, the DOD has never told the truth.

This is clearly demonstrable and understood by most here. Yet, time and time again, we go through the neurotic motions of giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying to offer "reasoned" discussion of their version of current events.

Except as a PR tool of fascist dictators, Zarqawi essentially did not exist.

I know they're liars. We all know they're liars.

Time after time after time we find out they (DOD, Bush, the neocons) have lied, and yet the Faux News crowds believes them.

Not ignorant... not even gullible. Stupid!

46. There's possibly a simple explanation for this
You had asked me in another thread to explain the FDR photo. I won't repost the thread I started in GD to address this issue, but here are some references I found which might explain it:

http://www.saudiembassy.net/Publications/MagSummer99/Gi...
http://www.saudi-us-relations.org/newsletter2005/saudi-...

These sites pertain to FDR and his esteemed relationship with the Saudi royal family. Unlike Bush, however, we have no photos of FDR holding hands with Saudi princes.

After all, a committed jihadist would be scrupulous in sexual matters. This is just like the 911 alleged hijackers, who put dollar bills into strippers g-strings and swigged whiskey. Clearly, they were also patsies used by BFEE as cover for their MIHOP.

OK, that was mostly for effect. What I am really saying is that this bullshit propaganda cuts both ways. I don't see the point.

On edit - The stupidity of this story buries this significant detail:

"The remains of Zarqawi's isolated "safe house" also suggested that the al-Qaeda leader in Iraq and his companions - which an Iraqi army officer said included two women and an eight-year-old girl - lived with few luxuries."

So the Air Force killed an eight year old girl as well.

Disgusting, isn't it? The fact that a woman and child were killed seemed to be glossed over in this week's collective media wargasm...not to mention the fact that they had the house surrounded and could have EASILY gone in and taken Zarqawi ALIVE, no bombs or killing needed.

35. Assaulting the house may have also resulted in deaths
But, you are 100% correct, the deaths of the woman and child have been ignored, for all practical purposes. Bombing a house with an innocent eight year old girl in it deserves more questioning than it has received, even if it did result in killing an alleged "terrorist mastermind". It shows how low the level of media and political discourse has sunk.

If Bush was a decent person, he would keep the eight year old in mind and forgo gloating about his victory over the adults.

Zarqawi's death is a good thing and the fact that no Americans were killed during the process is extraordinary.

> Zarqawi's death is a good thing and the fact that no Americans
> were killed during the process is extraordinary.

Wrong: the fact that no Americans were killed during the process
is simply reflecting the American tactic of bombing the fuck out
of everything they can and eventually, due to the lack of undamaged
places, they'll hit someone who could be claimed as a "target".

They will continue with this tactic because they have people
"hiding in clear view" (cough, cough, using a well-known fascist
as an alias) who will defend their tactics against all-comers
and "prove" that their cause is just, yea even "approved by God".

He had the Koran memorized, like everyone, but he had a more Bedouin approach to the faith from the reports I've seen. Not terribly fundamental, and not down in the weeds.

I do think his motivations were more political than anything else, and he used religion like Monkey does, to rile the dense. But hey, whatever. He's dead again.

Some of you might remember those little shorts, the ladies would often wear them with platform shoes and skimpy tops.

I had local friends and we frequently visited back and forth. The ladies, who would not wear hijab normally, would toss a chador over the hot pants-style outfits when they didn't want to change into something more conservative to run to the store or visit between homes.

Ya never know what's under a robe!

58. Zarqawi? Skimpy Clothing? This Doesn't Follow...
At least one woman and her daughter died as collateral damage when Zarqawi was killed in a US air strike. There is no proof whatsoever that the women who died there were camp followers instead of being the home-owners who made the lethal mistake of sheltering the late and loathsome Zarqawi. The clothing could have been theirs.

Women were in the house, and women's clothing was found in the house.

has a very familiar ring to it........

60. I knew it was coming
I knew it would only be a matter a time before they announced that Zarqawi had been with his male lover at the time, or that he had been wearing women's clothing... Something of that sort. So predictable.

64. Zarqawi was a married man, right?
Supposedly he had not only one but two wives.

It is only outside of the home that Muslim women have to dress modestly. I've heard that most young Muslim women are just like most other young women in the world.

67. Perhaps the bombs
shredded them a little, so they looked skimpier than they were originally? Just a thought..

that they were still intact so we could all be treated to these useful factoids.

Amazing, I think, the valuable fund of select information they managed to preserve from that rubble, while ALL the other humans' remains were mutilated beyond all identification. But not our Zarc trophy or his skimpy clothes or his computers or porn mags or whatever hell else it was they claim led them immediately to other raids all over the country afterward. Just amazing.

73. Or his handily intact computer, his diaries, telephone numbers, yada yada
Edited on Sun Jun-11-06 10:23 PM by chill_wind

"According to Mr. al-Roubaie, troops combing though the debris found Mr. al-Zarqawi's diaries, telephone numbers, computers and a database in one computer."

U.S. Maj.-Gen. William Caldwell said in Baghdad that troops discovered a “treasure trove” and that 56 raids had been carried out since Mr. al-Zarqawi was killed."

You can't just have an islolated pile of remarkably durable intact computers lying around (along with its remarkably durable intact owner) to explain.

You've got to clutter it up with a little more fun-fact filled esoterica than that for credibility's sake. That was one pair of "smart" bombs.

The story sounds like it was written by a partisan hack on oxy-contin.
