Tribal rebels blow up two gas pipelines in Pakistan
QUETTA, Pakistan (Reuters)- Suspected tribal militants blew up two natural gas pipelines in Pakistan's troubled southwest province of Baluchistan overnight, officials said on Friday.

One pipeline was blown up at Goh, around 9 km (6 miles) from Sui, the town where the main production plant for Pakistan's largest gas field is located.

The second was attacked an hour later on the Loti gas field supplying the Sui plant.

Baluchistan, Pakistan's largest but poorest of four provinces, is home to the country's largest gas and oil reserves.

1. Something's up. Did they all call each other on the phone
and say, "let's blow up some pipelines?".

Check out the thread about Ecuador's pipeline getting blown up.

I have NO DOUBT the oil executives are having a seizure right now, as well as Washington.

Now if anything happens in Saudi Arabia......

2. Ecuador? I thought it was Colombia's that got blown up.
Which is a) a regular event in any case, b) there's an election.

3. Yawn.
They do this every few weeks.

The Bugti are not too happy with not getting enough power over the oil fields. Shootouts, kidnappings, bombings. Eh.

Seemed to be a bit quiet lately. All the action was in the Osama chase up North.
