1. The War in Iraq ...
... it's the gift that just keeps taking.

Imagine what kind of Christmas it will be for the family and friends of this soldier? They'll be in mourning while Bush, Cheney and the boys are yukkin' it up ...

7. Stack em high

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

Carl Sandburg

8. "It was worth it".....
and "I'd do it again" said the yellow-bellied coward-in-chief.

"They're in their last throes."
"We're turning the corner."

9. HOW MANY MORE GEORGIE, HOW MANY MORE?
HOW MANY MORE GEORGIE, HOW MANY MORE?

No Man Can Find The War

Photographs of guns and flame
Scarlet skull and distant game
Bayonet and jungle grin
Nightmares dreamed by bleeding men
Lookouts tremble on the shore
But no man can find the war

Tape recorders echo scream
Orders fly like bullet stream
Drums and cannons laugh aloud
Whistles come from ashen shroud
Leaders damn the world and roar
But no man can find the war

Is the war across the sea?
Is the war behind the sky?
Have you each and all gone blind:
Is the war inside your mind?

Humans weep at human death
All the talkers lose their breath
Movies paint a chaos tale
Singers see and poets wail
All the world kows the score
But no man can find the war

12. A cold chill just ran down my back. I know we need to
keep the deaths in the news but this is the first time I have felt it personally. My nephew was in Iraq in the first several months. He got his hand crushed so they sent him home. Yesterday he would have landed in Baghdad again. This is terrifying to hear that another one is dead but not to know who. Not only the family of this young man/woman but also all of us who must wonder every day. BRING THEM HOME.
