WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The Food and Drug Administration is investigating the sudden deaths of 12 children who were taking the anti-flu medication Tamiflu.

All the deaths occurred in Japan.

Four of the deaths were due to "sudden death," which the FDA said was "an unusual phenomenon in otherwise healthy pediatric patients with influenza."

More than 90% of the reports of "adverse events" associated with Tamiflu came from Japan. The serious complications included neuropsychiatric symptoms, including delirium, hallucinations, convulsions and encephalitis.

The "most alarming" cases were of suicidal behavior, the FDA said. Two teenaged boys threw themselves out of windows after taking the drug; another young boy suffering from "frightening hallucinations" rushed into a busy street, narrowly escaping death.

2. Urging everyone to cut out

Aspartame and MSG. I discovered that those two additives were responsible for migraine headaches, were screwing up my response to drugs that worked previously, and were doing nasty things to blood pressure and weight.

If my experience is any indication, artificial sweeteners can actually cause one to gain weight!!

I thought it might be a dosage problem (smaller young children). Sounds like it has neurotoxic side effects. It probably crosses the blood brain barrier via the nasal cavity.

Why are these parents giving it to their kids now anyway?

It's known that if taken now, it may increase the chance of any killer flu into mutating into a more lethal form.

9. Because there have been over ten million

doses taken in Japan by people. Not bad percentage wise for side effects if it can be proven it was due to the drug.Japanese teens live in a high pressure environment as it is. I'd love to know the circumstances of the kids before I'd necessarily blame it on the med though for sure there may be some connection.
