4. On the other hand...
This may heat-up into a metaphorical "shooting-war" between the Log Cabin Republicans and the Log Closet Republicans.

Maybe the Log Cabin Republicans will finally realize that assigning their loyalty to a party based on financial interest is not a good idea.

And maybe what it will take for that to happen is for the GOP to finally tell them, "Your kind ain't welcome here."

7. Won't happen because the republican leadership REALLY doesn't...
care about homosexuality. They just use it as a wedge issue to stir up the slack-jawed yahoos.

2. I'm sorry but...
'Log Cabin Republicans' might as well be 'Jews for Hitler'. What the fuck are they thinking? Hello? Your party would prefer that you die in the gutter untreated from 'god's plague sent to destroy you'. Get it?

5. I don't know I agree.
It is gonna be the repuke moderates and Log Cabiners that pull the repukes back from the abyss.

There is still a job to be done there, for men and women of good will.

6. No, they want MY party to expend its political capital fighting for...
THEIR civil rights. Then, they will enjoy both their deserved civil liberties AND their ill-gotten financial gains. They ARE the MOST LOATHSOME of the right wing.

19. Or as Jon Stewart put it:
"Retarded Texas Death Row Inmates For Bush".

Or:

"Chickens For Colonel Sanders".

He's just really fucked-over a whole lot of gay Republicans.

And that's not nice.

Because if you're a gay Republican, you have enough problems already.

And having a gay person in charge of a group primarily known for protecting abortion rights just feeds into the hands of the right-wing who want to equate homosexuality with killing babies.

Phase 1: Collect Underpants
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit

Phase 1: Homosexuality
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Killing babies

He just gave The Christian Underpants Gnomes a "phase 2" that will have traction with their credulous followers:

Phase 2: Gay man in charge of Planned Parenthood.

On the other hand...

12. Death knell to PP. They will now have an opponent operating
on the inside, and eating away at all they stand for. Dumb move, Planned Par. They will have a republican outreach like PBS/CPB recently had Tomlinson's "outreach", aka destruction of basic principles of the organization he was hired to assist.

13. Yep... That's exactly the intention by the Ultra Conservatives
Log Cabin Republicans are incredibly disturbingly miopic - just because of their own extreme greed and selfishnessness. It seems to me, LCB's are simply about protecting their personal wealth, everyone else be damned.

PP is really desperate - I think they're too damn miopic. But that's a different subject because they're organization is for a particular purpose only.

18. The proof that this guy isn't miopic is that he accepted the position!
And PP isn't miopic either. Instead, they are trying to reach out to Republicans. That's all this guy is in charge of - outreach to Republicans.

In conclusion,
??!?!?!??!???!?!

21. heads up.. This is how they change organizations, folks..
republicans are experts at infiltration, and are willing to wait a long time for the payoff..They start with a few here, a few there, and eventually someone gets into a position of some power, and then they can cause a lot of turmoil, even if they are not in charge.. Sierra Club is an example..so is PBS..look at all the mischiel they have caused in those two..

This is a calculated effort, and these people are trained to do it
