Fourth American dies from Jordan blast wounds

A fourth American has died from wounds sustained in last week's triple hotel bombings in the Jordanian capital, a U.S. Embassy official said Tuesday.

The embassy official, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with embassy protocol, said the U.S. mission learned of the person's death on Tuesday, which was the first time they had been made aware of the individual's presence in Jordan.

Three Iraqi suicide bombers detonated explosive belts at three Amman hotels last Wednesday killing 57 others. Syrian-American filmmaker Mustapha Akkad, 75, and his daughter Rima, 34 were among the victims.

I can't remember exactly when the story ran. It may have been last weekend. The story featured a Jordanian man who lost his 22 year old wife in the bombing. There was something about it that was particularly poignant. It's easy to get pretty depressed about this stuff...
