Rice, Sharon, launch new verbal attacks on Iran, Syria
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=32ec06b4bf966b74

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice Sunday renewed her criticism of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for saying last month that Israel should be "wiped off the map."

Ms. Rice, in an address in Jerusalem before talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, said "no civilized nation" should make such a threat.

Ms. Rice has been touting the advance of democratic reform in the Islamic world on her current Middle East trip.

Its escalating and MS Rice is encouraging it!!!

1. The reason?

It should be noted that every pipeline except this one has gotten bombed.

3. American Bases to protect pipeline?

H-1 US Army Base

H-2 US Army Base

H-3 US Army Base

Neoconservatives in Washington want the new government in Baghdad to help pay for the reconstruction of the long abandoned Mosul-Haifa pipeline. The pipeline – the resurrection of which would inevitably stir discontent in the Arab world – passes through Jordan and Syria, and ends in the Israeli port city of Haifa. While much of the original 8” diameter pipeline is intact, the section that travels though Iraq lays in ruins.

2. Blah..
No civilized nation would write off an entire group of its citizens (ie, homosexuals, african-americans, american-indians, etc) just for political gain either.

Of course, they'd probably also never start a war based on faulty intelligence, murder thousands of citizens, use the very same chemical weapons we said we're against, and torture out enemies in secret prisons.

Should I continue?

Pot. Kettle. Black.

9. Well, I guess it's okay for Rice to go around calling for the
overthrow of an elected government, Chavez, but not for some non American or toddy to do the same...

Not that I agree that Isreal should be destroyed, heaven forbid....

11. Very interesting. Thanks.
Don't think this is the sole reason, or even the central reason, why Israel would like to take down Assad, but pipeline routes are a significant geopolitical factor in the strategy of some.

12. Does anybody remember the Education President?
As a candidate, Bush said he didn't know much about foreign affairs, but that was okay cuz his cabinet did (that looms large, now). But Gov. Bush was, essentially, an isolationist - that stuff that Repo's like. He was going to take care of America. Well, George, America is sinking fast. I don't think we can afford 3 more years of your unelected cabinet using us for their global wet-dreams.
