Jeb Bush leaves open White House bid
Jeb Bush leaves open White House bid

Nov 13, 2005 — BERLIN (Reuters) - Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the brother of U.S. President George W. Bush, ruled out running for president in 2008 but left open the possibility of a subsequent bid in an interview with a German magazine published on Sunday.

Jeb Bush, who is scheduled to visit Germany this week, told Focus weekly he had not thought much about running for the office held by his father and older brother except to rule out the next election at the end of George W. Bush's second term.

"You should never say never. But for the 2008 election, my answer is definitely no," he said, in comments translated into German by the magazine.

Asked whether his answer meant a later challenge was possible, he said: "Let's say there's a vague chance."

11. Sheesh. That was my thought, as well.
Isn't it amazing? Here, this family is single-handedly (actually, with some help) destroying this country. Fortunately, people are waking up and they despise Bush.

And he thinks he has a chance?

The Bushes plan to install a monarchy based on the mechanism they have in place to steal elections. It has worked - what? Three times?

Why wouldn't they run Jeb? He keeps saying "no," but he WILL run. Count on it.

He finally married her when she was 20, and of course converted to Catholicism because she insisted, and then took a job in Venezuela because she was having a hard time with the ingles and felt discriminated against and out of place in TX. I suspect her mother in law didn't help make her feel at home, either...

4. Listen kids- if we don't fix the election rigging and media ownership
regulations (which enabled them to buy up and control much of what we watch and read), Jeb could in fact, get in. Elected by the people-probably not. Stealing the election and manipulating the media- you bet it's possible. They've done it before and they will do it again if they can get away with it.

18. Yeah right, the America "free" press. I remember that from history books.
We need a huge, clear, indisputable majority so that we can warn people ahead of time of what they are likely to do. While we appear to have at least some of the MSM on our team, provided they are still with us as we near 06, we should bombard them with facts about how they can rig the election (again) based on what they've done in the past. Plus the DNC and MoveOn, and any other well funded groups, should start taking out huge ads in major newspapers saying things like "WATCH OUT- YOUR ELECTIONS MAY BE RIGGED- HERE's HOW THEY WILL DO IT". Perhaps then we can create a public watchdog force to make sure they don't try anything.

Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 11:49 AM by Hell Hath No Fury
right before 9/11.

But put it in context: If you remember correctly, the announcement of the results of the media count of the FL presidential votes has been set and Jebbie called up martial law.

9/11 hit and the announcement was made later.

What was Jebbie expecting? Rioting because of the announcement that Gore had indeed won the election or panic because we had been hit by terrorists??

Things that make you go hmmmm.....

21. Jeb'll let a Dem correct some of W's disasters in '08, then
campaign in 2012 on the basis that the Dem president ran the country into the ground, ignoring the fact that we will be still living out of W's God awful 8 years. The GOP and their pundits will blame everything on the '08 Dem president despite the fact they will undermine/sabotage and make the Dem's 4 years into a total nightmare.

Wishful thinking this country will say they had enough of the Bush* family, but the silent majority will go back to sleep, and the right will get energized having a Dem president to crucify. They have become nasty, nasty people, caring more for their own ideals rather than for what is good for the country.

46. If there is a God
she will have ensured that the entire Buch Crime Family has been thoroughly trounced, and that their names are synonymous with Mudd and Benedict Arnold before he gets anywhere near a presidential campaign.

48. I'd love for him to be their nominee. It would gaurantee our win.
Polls don't show him doing well against anyone.

65. One word: Schiavo
Jeb really screwed up big time over this -- breaking constitutional boundaries, sending his stormtroopers to abduct her from the hospice, "terri's Law," his being tied to those bonkers protesters and Randall Terry...

Other things would stop this dead in the water, but this one case makes this a huge liability to Jeb. And the Repubs know it... the huge majority of people in this country did NOT agree with JEB, Delay, etc. over this.

75. He's smart enough to see 2008 is GOP poison, he'll let the Dem. president
get "Cartered" and then he waltzes in and fucks everything up (again) that was getting fixed for those 4 years.

Brilliant.

Hopefully the shitty policies that the corporo-whores are cobbling together out of hate and stupidity will be trickling down (geddit?) to the average dumbass inbred freeper by then, and even they will be smart enough to see that

THE BUSHES HATE AMERICA AND AMERICANS.

79. If he runs, and gets elected,
I am going to drink an entire bottle of scotch in one sitting, with a tequila chaser. I'm not sure I'd care if I died of alcohol poisoning or not at that point.

82. Warner vs. Jeb would be the end of the Bush Dynasty
I hope Jeb does run because he will get his ass handed to him. He can't appeal to the "Bubba" Voters that his idiotic older brother had. Jeb is more like his father in demeanor. Hey Jebbie, don't let the proverbial door of Monarchy hit you on the way ou!
