Saddam prays all day in prison - lawyer

RAMADI, Iraq (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein hears little of the world outside and spends his time in U.S. military prison reading and praying, his lawyer said on Wednesday.

"He does not know what is going on in the outside world," Khalil al-Dulaimi said of the former Iraqi president.

"He spends his days praying and reading the Koran and other books," Dulaimi told Reuters as he announced that the defence team would boycott further dealings with the tribunal trying Saddam and his aides for crimes against humanity.

"Saddam is a prisoner of war," he said, calling on the United Nations and United States to press the Iraqi court to release the former leader.

2. Maybe Chuck Colson and James Dobson have been ministering him.
I think if I was in his shoes, I'd be praying too. And I'm an atheist.

3. Maybe Bush could join him in the cell
A couple of war criminals, just chatting about God.

7. Whaddaya know - Saddam's a Repuke
trying to convince everybody that he's a fine, upstanding religious guy (well, he isn't friendly with Al Qaeda - the Koran is probably the key to the story being bogus), kinda like Jeri Ryan's ex . . .

I hear that a lot of murderers in jail "find God", too . . . like a lot of Repuke WH staffers will before long . . .

8. In all fairness, there's probably not too much else to do
Saddam seems kind of past the weight-training thing, and I doubt they'll let him have a Gameboy. So reading, praying, hey, might as well cover all the bases before your execution.
