Pro-democracy fighters in Laos kill 3 soldiers, exile group says
Pro-democracy fighters seeking to topple the communist regime in Laos claimed yesterday they had killed three soldiers in clashes with the military in the northwestern province of Sainyabuli.

The California-based Lao exile group, the Fact Finding Commission, released a statement citing a spokesman for the Lao Citizens Movement for Democracy as saying the deaths occurred on Sunday.

It said LCMD soldiers had engaged Lao troops near the provincial town of Sam Huang, 60 kilometers from the Thai border, killing two government soldiers.

"Two hours later in the same region the revolutionary forces again engaged LPDR (Lao People's Democratic Republic) troops. The spokesman stated in that fighting one LPDR soldier was killed. LCMD claimed to have no casualties in the fighting," the FFC said.

Is this Fact Finding Commission a subcommittee of the Heritage Foundation?
