Bush, Schwarzenegger to Meet in Calif. (pic)

WASHINGTON - President Bush departed for California on Wednesday to meet with Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Bush will be in the Golden State for a two-day stopover en route to a six-nation tour of Asia and Australia. While in California, he'll give two speeches on the economy and attend a pair of re-election fund-raisers.

The White House is hoping the action star's victory last week in the nation's most populous state bodes well for Bush's campaign in 2004. The meeting takes place on Thursday _ after which Bush heads to Tokyo.

Bush's nine-day trip is focused on the annual Asia-Pacific summit, hosted by Bangkok this year. He's also visiting the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Australia. He's pressing for more troops and aid to help stabilize Iraq and help fight the broader war on terror.

2. Laura-'lump-in-the-bed'-Bush does all her traveling alone now...
Edited on Wed Oct-15-03 12:33 PM by amen1234
guess the 'lump-in-the-bed' note from the pResident reminded Laura that she is the 'chump-in-the-bed'.....

better for these two to take off for Asia at taxpayers expense...too much scrutiny here...

the real issue for Americans is that these types of relationships are extremely destructive to organizations...and in this case, the organization is the United States of America...and the whole wide world...

anyone notice that Aaron McGruder's cartoon has been banned from the Washington Post this whole week, while running a series of 'condi' cartoons....???

yes, eyebrows have been raised over this...

9. here's another pic of the couple displayed on the WH web page
they're not even hiding it anymore...real tex-ASS style...just put it out there for Americans to get used to...right out in the open....

according to the Washington Post....

Bush is personally close to Rice. She spends countless hours at his side -- in the White House, at Camp David and on his ranch in Crawford, Tex. -- forging a bond that has transcended the statutory position of national security adviser.

Even the White House would not authorize anyone to speak on the record about Rice's tenure.
