Aircraft flown by Bush ... is retired
PENSACOLA, Fla. (July 15, 5:22 p.m. ADT) - The first aircraft designated "Navy One," used to fly President Bush aboard an aircraft carrier to greet sailors returning from the war against Iraq, made its final landing Tuesday.

The S-3B Viking was flown here from North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego and will go on permanent display Thursday at the National Museum of Naval Aviation.

Many presidential planes have used the call sign "Air Force One," but there never was a "Navy One" until Bush climbed aboard the anti-submarine plane for his flight to the USS Abraham Lincoln, 39 miles off the California coast, on May 1.

1. rename the plane
The plane should be remaned "lies One" and then sent to the war museum......or mounted out side the whitehouse to remind future US presidents of the failings or this US president

2. The full headline:
"Aircraft flown by Bush before announcing end to Iraq fighting is retired"

* did.not.fly.that.plane.

OTOH, they do kind of stick it to him by including "announcing end to Iraq fighting".

What are they gonna do with all this Shrub memorabilia when the truth comes out and he's regarded as the worst president in American history and an embarrassment to the country?

4. Has his rolled up crotch sock been retired too?
If it's on display, maybe they could call it "Crotch Bulge One" or something.

8. Isn't this a hugh waste
How much does a S-3B cost? The military can afford to give it to a museum just because the psuedo-president went for a ride in it? Shouldn't some oversight committee call this a waste of resources needed to defend our country against terrorists?

19. $27 million
... as stated in another thread on the subject when the story surfaced first - quite some days earlier. However, all of these planes are to be replaced.

But I wonder why they have put the chimp-in-a-flightsuit in a plane that so seriously needs replacement ;-)

9. Isn't this the story of his life?
Every plane he's ever flown has been obsolete and soon taken out of service.

Edited on Tue Jul-15-03 10:58 PM by drscm
I hope to God they also print the names of all those killed in this war, and the multiple lies Bush told in order to get our relatives killed.

They should name the damn thing: SHAME OF AMERICA ONE
