Alert is declared at Parliament
-----------------
LONDON Another sign that London is on edge in the aftermath of last week's bombings. Police say a security alert has been declared today at the House of Commons.

A spokeswoman isn't saying if the building's been evacuated, or what caused the alert.

Another spokesman says the building's been sealed, and nobody's being let in or out.

Yesterday, police briefly closed several streets where most government officers are located -- after a suspicious package was found. It contained no explosives.

1. Hmmmm... waiting for more info
I tend to think that they wouldn't do this for no good reason like we do at our capitol, but on the other hand they may just be really jumpy....

2. Alert over
The Metropolitan Police have said a security alert at the Palace of Westminster has now been stood down.

At the height of the alert only MPs and peers were allowed in to the building, but people were being allowed to leave.
