First Lady: Hopes husband will pick a woman to succeed O'Connor on Supreme Court

CAPE TOWN, South Africa When President Bush settles on a nominee to the Supreme Court, his wife hopes that he'll pick a woman.

Whomever the president goes with, Laura Bush tells N-B-C she's confident the president's nominee will have a lot of "integrity and strength." The first lady says she admires and respects Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, who is retiring.

Mrs. Bush commented from South Africa, where she visited a clinic treating H-I-V-positive mothers.

3. I couldn't care less what this Stepford Wife thinks
I'm usually willing to give a spouse a bit of slack in politics. Laura gives women in general a very bad role model and I discount almost all of the crap she spews. None of it comes from her own head anyhow. Sorta like her husband!

4. What an uppity woman
Who does she think she is, telling her husband what to do? This is all the fault of radical feminism here, folks.
First, they force women to work outside the home, then BAM!, they're getting them to talk back to the head of the family.
It's a sad world, folks.

5. Pickles nodded like a bobblehead doll in that interview!
The pattern: Nod... nod... nod.. nod-nod-nod-nod-nod-nod-nod! The camera showed the back of her head a lot and it was REALLY apparent from that angle. Like a nervous tic, a habitual nodding of the head. Maybe she does that to reassure herself "it'll be ok, yes it really will be ok, it'll be ok, yes it will..."

6. Quick, Laura
tell us which major issues were decided by O'Connor's votes.
Mrs. Bush makes comments as baseless as her husband's. Give us specifics. Not this "feel good"....I hope he chooses a woman First Lady babble. Why? Tell us why Laura. Why a woman? And what kind of background should she have? What kind of decisions should she have been involved in as a judge or lawyer?
Quit talking to us like we're in one of your photo opp. kids reading circles. We're adults.
Tell us the truth. Not some platitude off a cross-stitch sampler you admired at some Republican wive's hen party.

8. Leona Helmsey would be the perfect choice for this White House
crew. I'm more than sure that Leona could train Laura on how to dress and the best colors to wear.
