State Dept.: Iraq Risky for Americans Yet (really???)
By ANNE GEARAN
AP Diplomatic Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The State Department called Iraq too dangerous for American travelers on Wednesday, hours after President Bush pointed to "significant progress" there.

"Attacks against military and civilian targets throughout Iraq continue," and targets include hotels and restaurants, the State Department's travel warning said. "There have been planned and random killings, as well as extortions and kidnappings."

The State Department issues warning against unnecessary travel to countries where internal conditions such as war, political unrest or terrorism may make American tourists, business people or other travelers targets. Wednesday's warning replaced a similarly worded warning issued in October.>>>snip

"All vehicular travel in Iraq is extremely dangerous," the warning said. "There have been numerous attacks on civilian vehicles, as well as military convoys. Attacks occur throughout the day, but travel at night is exceptionally dangerous.>>>snip

1. Damn!
I was going to take my vacation in Baghdad. I have reservations at the Motel 6 on the Airport Highway. Got a great deal too. Free bagels for breakfast, and free Showtime AND HBO.

12. Outstanding
don't forget your vest.

I am how ever having trouble with airline connections from Chicago.

There is also this pesky Visa thing too. apparently we will need a Visa demanded by the U.S. Iraqi Puppets.

The problem is the US will not give us a Visa for our own tour, we need to be sponsored by a corporation-- ie: Blackwell, Dyncor, Brown and Root to get a VISA

Sorry it doesn't look like we can go.

14. I'd love to see that thug get mugged in LA
He, however, has a number of blackwell type security guards who "Pack Heat". They do this regardless of the local gun laws. He is a perfumed prince of the media.
