On C-SPAN, 2 callers mentioned...
a book where Joe Wilson outs his own wife. Anyone know of any truth to this? And don't worry, IMO this will not diminish the crime committed by the WH regarding this matter.

1. Just watch Faux...
they'll tell you the name of the book if it exists. You never know - the callers may have gotten the information from one of Rush's benders.

2. I'd be surprised
because when he first started talking about this, he always phrased things carefully, never conceding in his complaint that she was CIA.
Sounds like the WH or FR at work.

3. Mike Allen
What a Bush suckup. He thought Bush's poem was endearing. He got all serious about Bush visiting Iraqi war wounded, saying that Bush had set it up so that he could visit some soldiers without the press knowing so that it wouldn't be a photo op. Yeah, Mike, then he made sure the idiots in the press KNEW that he had done it. He defended Bush AND his wife, and claimed no knowledge of the OSP out of Cheney's office. Man, if most of the Washington press is as compromised as this loser, it explains why negative stories about the Plame outing and the Bush administration are hard to find.

4. "...is an idiot."
If that's what they're working with at the WaPo, look out! And on an additional note, did I miss the announcement that everyone had to have an IQ under 85 to call in today?

8. I was thinking the exact same thing.
What was up with the people this morning? And it was on both sides. The only ones making any sense were from London. Boy, if we could count on our population to be that educated, we would really be doing something.

And Mike Allen was ridiculous! I hope he'll take time to look at the replay of his performance this morning and realize how much of a suck up he is.

11. Lol. My exact thought.
One good call and it had to come from 3000 miles away. I pity the fools.

5. This might be a version of a kreeprepublic lie I have seen several times.
A curriculum vita of sorts for Wilson is posted on the website for the Middle East Institute. http://www.mideasti.org/html/bio-wilson.html The last paragraph of that vita reads in its entirety as follows:
He is married to the former Valerie Plame and has two sons and two daughters.
This is the only mention of his wife. Nothing is said about her career or professional activity.

Many kreepers have referred to this vita as an "autobiography" and posted that Wilson "outed" his wife in his "autobiography" by identifying her by her maiden name. They appear to believe that it was the publication of Plame's name, and not her work, that may have violated the law. Many other kreepers have cited those kreeper statements as evidence, or even proof, that Wilson wrote a book identifying his wife as a CIA operative.

I don't know whether to pity or condemn these kreepers. Perhaps it is best to do both.

9. I was just looking at that document a few seconds ago.
No mention of having authored any books.

last sentence: He is married to the former Valerie Plame and has two sons and two daughters.

6. One can search by author...
... in the Library of Congress Locis system. Locis comes back up at noon EDT.

If he published any book, it will show up there.

But, I kind of doubt it, simply because he's been a member of the government until recently, and even after retiring, knowledge of his wife's career would require any book relating to the CIA to be vetted by the CIA.

This guy is a public servant, and not someone to challenge the CIA for the sake of writing a book which would compromise his wife.

Certainly, he might have written a book, and might have mentioned his wife, but certainly not in the context of her work for the CIA. That's pretty much how such rumors get started.

Cheers.

7. C-span callers...
often are real ideologues on both sides and say things that they heard from somebody who is on the lunatic fringe that isn't correct. I would give no credence to this.

10. smartest caller today was a Brit!
He totaly refuted what the faux watching repuke had to say about England being "our best friend". Tony may be aWol's best friend but the Brits are not happy about it. He gave a very interesting assesment of the front pages today in England and how even the most conservative ones are saying that tony and aWol planned this war last summer to start in March, NO Matter What! He also was of the opinion that when tony goes down, which he will, so does * !

I wish we had a free press...

13. I found this . . .
http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/992277/posts

where the Freepers discuss that Wilson mentioned his wife's name, but not her occupation or employer.

By the way, you are new but this topic probably would have been better posted in GD, unless you are discussing a particular link.

15. A noxious trick of language perpetrated by weasely Novak
In his "apologia pro treasonia mea" article, in which he puts forth a series of lies and contorted linguistic constructions, Novak mentions that Plame's name appears in Wilson's "Who's Who" biography. The way he constructs the sentence makes it seem that she is publicly identified as a CIA operative IN THAT BIOGRAPHY.

This is pure hokum. That she is identified by name in no way indicates that she was identified by PROFESSION. In fact, the people she dealt with while undercover knew her by her name. They did not for that reason know her by PROFESSION! That's why it was bad to EXPOSE HER in the first place! It is among the stupidest argument yet fielded by the desperate Novak.

It is no surprise that the pretentious cretins of the right wing should therefore latch on to it as their last life raft. They are truly stupendous idiots.

16. Not LBN... locking
This thread really doesn't meet the criteria for the Latest Breaking News Forum.

Please feel free to begin a new discussion (or join an existing one) about Amb. Joseph Wilson and the existence of such a book in the General Discussion Forum.

Thanks!
