Williams to 'turn up the heat' over U.S. rocket
HALIFAX — A weekend meeting aimed at ironing out concerns about an impending U.S. rocket launch over the North Atlantic failed to calm the fears of Newfoundland's premier.

Danny Williams said the meeting between Canadian, U.S. and oil industry officials in Dartmouth, N.S., left him with more questions than answers.

"I don't like what I see and I'm not happy," Williams told a news conference today in St. John's, Nfld.

The Newfoundland premier suggested the meeting Saturday had failed to ease his concerns because oil executives and the province's risk analyst, Fasil Khan of Memorial University, were shut out of part of the meeting.

1. Based on our ability to launch a rocket of any kind the last
few years, I'd say no worries!

Imagine-we walked on the moon in 1969, 36 years ago, and now we have to hitch rides to a space station with the Russians, who "lost"the Cold War.

Ah, well, who needs crappy science anyway? We have intelligent design and an ownership society, and democracy is on the march! Think I'll lie down now.......

2. I Think That There Is A Bit
More than meets the eye here. The premier has just recently beat back the Feds on an issue of funding that has thrown a wrench into a lot of things.
Now it seems that he is going to ask for 250 Million to make sure that his natural resources are not going to loose some money. Seems like the question is "Who is responsible for the air space"? He will certainly be responsible for it if he is given control of it.
