Seattle Police Chief Downplays Possible Seattle Terror Threat

snip.....SEATTLE - Seattle police say they are taking precautions, but wanted to set the record straight Friday after the city received word from the FBI Thursday of a possible but unsubstantiated threat to release gas in downtown Seattle at the end of the month.

Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske held a news conference Friday afternoon on the subject -- not to sound the alarm, but moreso to address some of the rumors that have been going around town. He added that if the public is going to hear about it, he'd rather they hear it from him instead of some rumor

Someone on DU posted about the testing being done on the 23rd. Coincidently it is also both Michael Moore and the oklahoma city bombing guy (I can't believe his name won't pop into my head, arggh it's late) birthdays. Or perhaps the latters death day. I can't remember but you could probably do a search and find the post.
