General Cable settles strike in Rhode Island
General Cable Corp. has settled a contract dispute with about 180 workers in Rhode Island who have been on strike for more than three weeks.

The workers at a plant in Lincoln, R.I., walked off the job March 11 after their union failed to reach a new contract with the company. General Cable's Lincoln plant produces industrial and specialty cables.

On Saturday, members of the United Steelworkers of America Local 4543 ratified a new, four-year contract with General Cable. Details of the agreement were not disclosed. <snip>
