Lima, Mar 20 (Prensa Latina) The Brazilian, Colombian, and Peruvian Armed Forces will carry out joint military exercises in bordering areas common to them, Peruvian Defense Minister Roberto Chiabra announced. <snip>

He told Andina news agency the military campaign was aimed at supporting the aboriginal communities and small towns located in the banks of rivers flowing through these three nations´ bordering areas.

Chiabra added medical consultations will be rendered in a hospital ship, where medicines will be given to patients to hold control of endemic diseases in the area.

The three countries signed an agreement last year to fight illegal activities, as subversion and drug trafficking in the bordering areas.
