My DU name "Pachamama" means Mother Earth in the Quechua language of the ancient Incans...its used by the tribes of the Amazon....

They have been saying for a while now that if you make Pachamama angry enough she will shake humans off like a dog shakes off fleas....

We humans haven't exactly been treating her very well the last 300 years...

19. Richard Nolle fans know to be prepared...he predicted a wave of
earthquakes floods for the past few month. This is terrible news...but the Earth is trembling. And...yes...somehow many of us feel it's Bush Evil Vibes making this all happen even if he isn't "directly" responsible...It's BAD EARTH VIBES...As a DU'er said here awhile ago "Mother Earth" is "spitting Bush out." Unfortunately it's hitting the very folks he's after...:-(

Or, it's just shifts in the "tectonic plates" as part of the normal cycle of earth's change. If one wants to look at it another way.

I said that about Tsunami, but was told to put tin foil hat back on. At this point, all is up suspect. When you are told to put on your tin hat for election fraud (twice!), fake war, 9/11, etc... at some point, it becomes afixed and all previous conspiracy theories become open as plausible. Did anyone else experience this? Suddenly when you are called a "theorist" as though you are sitting in some corner picking your nose while talking to God and ET on three way calling; you start to wonder what other so-called theories might be true?

Earthquake shakes central Iran
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — A powerful earthquake shook central Iran Tuesday, killing four people and destroying villages, state-run television reported.
An official in the city of Kerman said authorities said that four people were killed in the powerful 6.4-magnitude quake, according to the broadcast.

The epicenter of the earthquake was reported 35 miles from Kerman, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

Kerman provincial governor Mohammad Ali Karimi was quoted by the television as saying that "several villages have been destroyed" by the earthquake.

30. Strong Quake Hits Iran, Almost 400 Dead
Reuters
By Parisa Hafezi

TEHRAN (Reuters) - A strong earthquake hit southeast Iran on Tuesday, killing almost 400 people, injuring hundreds and destroying villages, a local official told Reuters.

The quake, which measured 6.4 on the Richter scale, was centered on the town of Zarand in Kerman province, about 440 miles southeast of Tehran.

While villages were razed, major settlements in the area appeared to have escaped heavy damage so the toll would not be as high as the many thousands killed in some past quakes in Iran of a similar strength, officials said.

"Figures we have show that in the early hours more than 1,000 were injured and almost 400 killed," said Ali Komsari, a spokesman for the Kerman provincial governor's office.

It's the current focus of the greatest minds in the U.S. and has been for dercades.

35. Iran earthquake kills 126; 500 injured
http://www.eians.com/stories/2005/02/22/22kills.shtml

At least 126 people have been killed and 500 injured as a strong earthquake rocked Iran Tuesday destroying several villages, reports Xinhua.

The quake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale hit hard the Zarand region in the country's southeast, state media reported. The temblor was also felt in the neighbouring cities of Yazd, Meybod and Behabad.

A doctor at the Kerman University hospital said that more than 100 bodies had been recovered from the rubble. The interior ministry put the death toll at 126.

"We think that the toll could go a lot higher," a hospital spokesman said, adding that the rescue services still had to reach several villages. The official IRNA news agency quoted the provincial natural disasters headquarters as saying that at least 500 people were wounded in the quake and at least five villages have been severely damaged.

36. Report: Earthquake in Iran Kills 190
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/ap/20050222/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iran_earthquake

TEHRAN, Iran - A powerful earthquake shook central Iran on Tuesday, destroying villages, killing at least 190 people and injuring more than 1,000, state-run television reported. A senior official said the final death toll could reach 350.

TV footage showed residents frantically digging through collapsed mud-brick homes looking for loved ones and village almost flattened by the 6.4-magnitude earthquake, with few mud-built walls standing.

The epicenter of the quake, which struck at 5:55 a.m., was on the outskirts of Zarand, a town 35 miles northwest of Kerman, the capital of Kerman province, said the seismological unit of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute.

"The death toll has increased to 190, and more than 1,000 people have been injured," the television quoted Interior Ministry spokesman Jahanbakhsh Khanjani as saying. A senior regional official also told The Associated Press the final death toll could reach 350.

The energy outputs aren't even close. Also, why would the Iranians have detonated a nuclear weapon while they are so closely monitored? We couldn't have done it, so why would they?

Death Toll Rising Following Powerful Earthquake in Iran

The death toll continues to rise following an earthquake early Tuesday in the southeastern Iranian province of Kerman. At least 400 people have reportedly been killed and many hundreds more injured. Dozens of villages were damaged or completely flattened. Even so, the Iranian government has said there is no need for international assistance.

Devastated Iranians worked throughout the day Tuesday frantically clawing through rubble, debris and mud trying to find their loved ones.
