Bombs meet Thai PM trip to south
Two small bombs have exploded in southern Thailand ahead of a visit by
Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Six people were hurt in a blast at 0830 (0130 GMT) near a bank in the
Ragae district of Narathiwat province. No-one was injured by the
second explosion.

It came as Thailand's cabinet approved a new 12,000-strong infantry
division to combat violence in the south.

Mr Thaksin is due to meet both Muslim and Buddhist leaders in his
three-day tour of Thailand's troubled south.
