Greenhouse gas turning oceans acid, scientists warn
Gigantic changes to the world's oceans, leading to the complete disappearance of marine life from cod to coral reefs, are now threatened by the main greenhouse gas causing global warming, British scientists warned yesterday.

Researchers sounded the alarm about a completely new and potentially devastating danger to the world from the huge volumes of carbon dioxide (CO2) produced by industry and transport, which is already known to be threatening the future of the planet by changing the climate.

Now, they said, it is also rapidly turning the world's oceans acid as it is dissolved in sea water, and putting an enormous array of marine life at risk.

Ocean acidification may wipe out much of the microscopic plankton at the base of the marine food web, and have a knock-on fatal effect right up the chain, through shellfish to major human food species such as cod.

1. Revelation talks about the sea having no fish at the time of the
end. This is sad for the earth and us.

2. Well, Greenpeace says that 80 percent of all pollution in seas and oceans
...comes from land-based activities.

We did it, not God.

5. I don't know if Revelations explicitly says that god will do it...
but it does say that he'll turn up at the end to kick George Bush's miserable butt.

8. No doubt. Not all leaders are put above the people for
their edification. * seems to be on the scene to help shift world power away from the US back to Europe. It's like the countries have to unite to protect themselves from us. The state of delusion speech like a threat to the rest of the world.

7. Exactly. We did it. We didn't have to, but we are greedy among
other things. There are judgments that do come from God during that time period, but man is on a course to destroy himself -- man's actions, not God's -- and God intervenes to prevent man from wiping himself off the planet.

3. Penquins and polar bears
to name just two that are headed for extinction because idealogues who cannot get enough money in their own bank accounts refuse to act on knowledge.
What is happening is willful and murderous.
Eventually it will prove to be suicidal.

I wonder if the religious people who commit such acts are going to be allowed in the group of special people when they are whisked away from the suffering. One would think they would be held accountable by a higher power.

4. H2O + CO2 -> H2CO3
and H2CO3 is what gives your tongue the "buzz" when you drink sparkling wines, beers, bubbling mineral waters, and carbonated beverages. It's not just the bubbles. It's the H2CO3 "acid."

If there is enough H2CO3 in the water to change the "microoceanography" - we have problems.

6. And more than half of the oxygen we breath comes from plankton.

I just hope I live long enough to see captain codpiece gasping for the air that he helped destoy.

It's On the Beach all over again, but nobody will last any longer than everyone else.
