Two Killed in Helicopter Crash (from yesterday)

Two Killed in Helicopter Crash (from yesterday)
Baghdad, Iraq -- Two Task Force Baghdad Soldiers died when their helicopter went down in the southwestern portion of the Iraqi capital about 8 p.m. Jan. 28.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.

The incident is under investigation.

7. There's something going on with the helicopters....
If anyone is interested, there are some threads floating around about Lockheed Martin and its defective helicopters. At this point, something is definitely happening.

It's hard to tell, because the information we get from Iraq could be tainted. We don't know if it went down due to enemy fire or sabotage (from Iraqi employees on the base).

So far, we've lost 33 helicopters at a cost of - what? $50 million apiece? Just recently, they seem to be going down more often.

8. It would not be a surprise if maintenance/logistics failures occurred.
