Anti-Gay Marriage Bills Move Forward In New Mexico & Virginia
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/01/012605bans.htm

A so-called Defense of Marriage bill was introduced Wednesday in the New Mexico legislature.

The legislation defines marriage as "between one man and one woman" and says that "marriage between persons of the same sex is prohibited."

“That’s biblical, and we feel that the values that we have, that the family values that we want our children to have, are those that marriage is between a man and a woman," said Rep. Gloria Vaughn the bill's sponsor.

2. come on Virginia! I know we can win the race
to be the nation's most bigoted Commonwealth!
First, we introduce bills to track everyone having miscarriages, now this. Maybe we'll elect a rethug in November so we can make up ground lost against Texas in executing people. :eyes:

3. Democrats can amend the NM bill to provide domestic partnership.
Then the authors will withdraw. I think that's the way to go.
