Five U.S. Soldiers Wounded in Iraq Attacks
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20030909/ts_nm/iraq_ambush_dc&cid=564&ncid=1473

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi guerrillas wounded five U.S. soldiers on Tuesday in two attacks west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

Two soldiers were wounded in an attack using an explosive device in the town of Ramadi, around 60 miles west of Baghdad at 7 a.m., a spokeswoman said without giving further details of the incident.

Nearly three hours later, three soldiers were wounded when their vehicle was attacked in Falluja, she added. Witnesses in the town, 30 miles west of the capital, said a land mine hit a U.S. military convoy.

Residents gathered near the scene, chanting anti-American slogans such as "Burn, burn, you infidels."

8. There are a lot of misleading reports
...these days, eg, "No one killed in 7 days". It totally ignores those poor kids who get their limbs blown off.

White House Caught in Attempt to Hide Casualty Reports

-snip-
"Shortly after the speech, NBC’s Norah O’Donnell reported that a growing number of lawmakers, including Republicans, have lately expressed dismay at administration efforts to keep classified the number of U.S. casualties in Iraq. O’Donnell, speaking on MSNBC’s “Hardball With Chris Matthews,” said those casualties included more than 1,100 wounded in the conflict to date.

Vice President Dick Cheney, in remarks on Friday, acknowledged that the wars in Iraq and in Afghanistan have come with sacrifice.

...the last thing you or your son hears from the people you are "liberating" is "Burn, burn, you infidels." Just stop and think about that for a moment. Because we don't have enough cannon fodder to send over there to do this job, and there will a draft very soon.

12. Bush won't dare risk a draft
I agree with your sentiments, but I don't think Bush's masters will try a draft. Too politically lethal. I expect they'll basically hang the guardsmen and regulars out to dry until they can bribe foreign governments to take over. Money can buy anything in this world, and the scum in Washington know the price of everything: watch them shackle us to fantastic debt for buying off third world governments to put their people in harm's way.

It's also conceivable that Bush could go onto reelection in this fashion, celebrating his "accomplishment" of bringing the troops home next year. If the US media declare victory for Bush in this regard, the sheep will lap it up as always.

10. Hey, they used the word "wounded"
Not an "accident"?

Not "hurt"?

Uncle Karl must not be pleased.
