I don't get the Neocons problem with Russia
Isn't Russia just following the Bush Doctrine?

Somebody attacked them so they're shock & awing them REAL GOOD! WOOOHOO! KABOOM! Showing STRENGTH and kicking ASS!

I guess that's only OK when THEY do it.....

Meanwhile * is issuing "strong statements" about it....but, but, but, I thought that was WEAK! I thought military power was the way to crush tyrants?

Even in their own twisted terms, they make NO sense at all.

1. They (U.S and Russia) are fighting over an oil pipeline.
That sums up the situation.

Watch for "humanitarian efforts" because that's when the shit has officially hit the fan.

3. Think about it this way: Russia's following the Bush doctrine, but then so was Georgia.
The Bush doctrine essentially is "Attack whoever you want so long as you can turn a profit on the occupation and can say 'our vital national interests' with a straight face." Since Georgia is sitting on top of a lot of Black Sea region oil, it would be better if US companies rather than Russian companies did the oil drilling.

4. I thought that funny too.
Bush "calling" Putin on his horrible (and it is horrible) offense of invading a sovereign nation, and for regime change no less. Hey, isn't that what we did? I guess Putin should have given Georgia's president and his children 48 hours to get out of town, rustled up a couple of "supporting" nations, and then it would be "all good".

Unlike Kennedy and Khrushchev 2 adversaries with some modicum of restraint and intellect, we have Bush the intellectually challenged bully, and Putin, the ex KGB psychopath taking the world to the edge in a game of brinkmanship. Scary!

Those who we call Neocons tend to have the ideology that the US is infallible and that anything that advances "American" aims is fair game and we are still carrying on under manifest destiny. Definitely twisted.
