Rusky's abandon dollar imports
almost..and along with lots and lots and lots of other countries - need someone to play taps, in spite of Sir Al, subject of the Queen (one of the owners of the Fed) of England, the dollar is dying. Rapidly it seems.

The import of US currency to Russia has almost ceased while the volume of cash rubles is growing. This denotes a change in the correlation between cash rubles and dollars.

The Izvestia newspaper reports that the introduction of a new ruble banknote, a 5,000-ruble banknote, will be the finishing touch in this trend. It may substitute a 100-dollar banknote, which is a popular form of cash savings in Russia.

The volume of cash dollars in circulation in the world is $630bn, and less than a half of this amount is in circulation in the USA. At least 370bn dollars are circulated outside the issuing country, and this share was constantly growing over the past decade, Izvestia reports.

1. Ahh. But you won't "abandon" the canard that EVERY piece of news...

...good, bad, or indifferent ... is evidence that the dollar is about to plunge to zero value.

I remind you that you have essentially two weeks on your prediction:
In the month of Jan we will see 900 dollars per ounce gold. We will see global interest rates, including those in the US, shoot upwards on a trend that will shock most people. We will see huge increases in the costs of real goods such as food and gas and electricity.

Since that prediction, gold is down about 1%, the dollar isn't looking so bad, interest rates are back down into the "refinancing" range (mortgage applications back up 25%) and inflation is still nowhere to be found (perhaps tomorrow's CPI?).

I would very much like your super bowl predictions. I intend to bet the other way.
