Grisly death enrages anti-U.S. town in Iraq
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L07219610.htm

RAMADI, Iraq, July 7 (Reuters) - The gruesome death of an Iraqi man whose head was shot off inflamed anti-American rage in the volatile town of Ramadi on Monday after a night of armed attacks which wounded four U.S. troops.

Several Iraqis gathered around his bullet ridden car where a piece of skull lay among the shattered windshield glass on the floorboard.

Another crowd walked past pools of blood at Ramadi General Hospital and watched a doctor pull plastic sheeting off his corpse that was punctured by bullets they said were fired by U.S. troops occupying the town, around 100 km (60 miles) west of Baghdad.

"You will see what will happen to the Americans now. You will see what we will do to them," hospital administrator Taha Hussein told Reuters.

2. Darn
You beat me to it.

I guess something major was going on in Ramadi yesterday. No wonder the CIA controlled press held back the story.

4. "You will see what will happen to the Americans now."
Hell, we knew what was going to happen to the Americans before we went in! We saw it in Viet Nam and now we get bu$h's version of "a re-run of a bad movie."

War kills. That's why it's a last resort, Little George!!!

May all the glories and benefits of this war return to you three times over.

5. I just think it's so great how the Iraq war has brought
...Americans and Iraqis together, in one glowing community of benevolence and freedom. All these heart-warming stories about the humanity-affirming exchanges between two such widely separated cultures. It just gives a lift to my day. We're so involved in their affairs now, the little minutiae of everyday life. What a great humanitarian Our Leader is to have realized the potential for this warm human relationship we're developing.

"You will see what will happen to the Americans now. You will see what we will do to them," hospital administrator Taha Hussein told Reuters.

What a friendly fellow. I am just overcome with optimism for this new friendship between peoples.

14. Is it all about winning their hearts and minds by giving them liberty
and freedom or is it if you have them by the short hairs, their hearts and minds will follow?

8. our kids are sitting ducks
When will america wake up? We need to let the UN in to do it's job of starting a democratic government in Iraq. We need to get the hell out of there and stop allowing Haliburton and the BFEE so suck the american tax payer dry.

9. Don't you think
that American corporations (Haliburton/BFEE) use our military as if it were their corporate military force?

Then when it comes time to pay for the use, they shift their money to off shore accounts, so our kids do their "dirty work" for free.

10. Some Good News: Medea Benjamin
Just heard Medea (sp?) Benjamin on Democracy Now.
Amy Goodman had her on the phone from Iraq where
Ms. Benjamin has now established the Iraq Watch headquarters.

The soldiers are contacting her asking the organization to
contact their parents and Americans in general and tell
them what is really going on.
-That the Iraqi people are much worse off than they were
before the illegal invasion/occupation
-That the higher-ups are completely incompetent in
the planning and execution of operations.

They want to come home-NOW.

I want to voluteer to make as many calls for as many soldiers
as I can, and deliver any message they want.
Obviously, the pentagon is not providing them the opportunity
to communicate with their families.
Gee, I wonder why that is?

Anyone know how to contact Iraq Watch?

11. Yet the media whores continue to spin
Telling us the majority of Iraqis welcome the US presence, and it is just bands of Saddam supporters causing the problems. These pockets of resistance sure do get around. Multiple daily attacks on our boys in scattered locations. But the Iraqis are glad we're there. The liars in the media share a goodly portion of the blame for this bloodbath.

16. COWARDLY AWOL PRINCE DIDN'T GET IT
Most of them Wolfie Cheney and Chimpy never in their lives were up close and personal to any danger.

Worse --- they apparently have no conscience ----or empathy to anyone who is suffering or dying.

They are selfish narcissists, pleasure seekers or worse---individuals who get some pleasure out of causing the gruesome deaths of others.

No one I know--- can see that movie and not be deeply disturbed.

http://famulus.msnbc.com/FamulusIntl/reuters07-06-213912a.asp?reg=MIDEAST

Staff at Ramadi general hospital said that three U.S. vehicles arrived there late on Sunday night and left a body of a decapitated man.

"The Americans brought him here and they told us he did not stop at a checkpoint, so they shot him," hospital official Taha Hussein told Reuters.

I notice the link has changed. The original article began thus:

RAMADI, Iraq, July 7 — U.S. troops shot dead two Iraqi civilians during clashes with Iraqi guerrillas in the town of Ramadi, west of Baghdad, witnesses said on Monday.

They said the U.S. troops opened fire on Sunday night on a vehicle carrying the two civilians after an American convoy was ambushed by guerrillas. ---
