Think what you're saying could possible work out that way --

Imagine a country where the federal elected officials are constantly on the defense, and non-stop campaigning (and of course, unlimited fund-raising from our corporate "citizenry" ); where courts are tied up over incessant challenges to recall petitions, where already scarce state and local revenues have to be spent on holding, staffing and judging election after election, where the minority tea partyists have even MORE disproportionate leverage over policy (because those fuckers will vote every time there's a polling station open - not so much with our side, I'm afraid.)

However, Wisconsites certainly aren't idiots and they are going to try it -- and I hope they

succeed!

GOP certainly didn't hesitate in using it against Governor Grey --

If it's a tool, it might as well be a tool in liberal/moderate hands as well as in the

hands of the rightwing.


Recall and impeachment should be (and were designed as) nuclear weapons, not Saturday Night Specials. Thanks to the GOP, the bar has been lowered on both, and now they're essentially off-year political referenda on public mandates.

Whatever it was designed to do -- it was certainly distorted by the right wing which has

distorted much of our people's government and democracy.

Think we have to keep discussing RECALL -- as we discuss everything else --
