First example I can think of: a cabbie doesn't greet a hail because he sees a black man hailing. Does the cabbie know how much money the guy hailing him is worth? Or how about this: black woman enters mall store in upscale neighborhood. Woman is followed around by security because "black people are thieves." Does the security guard know how much she is worth? Rich trumps a lot of things, very true, but in the day-to-day, people of color of every class get the second-class shaft because the skin's a lot easier to see than the money. Besides, every true bigot knows that no matter how much money "they" make, or how successful any one of "them" are, some things (i.e., whatever bigoted belief they hold) is simply always true.
