I have seen people here literally say: "well, it's their problem, let them sort it out themselves" in response to my plea for the Libyan people. They couldn't care less. They used false dichotomies, like: "which social programs should be cut to finance this?", which is of course pure demagoguery. You just need te reverse the Bush tax cuts to finance this, and then you'll still have billions left. Or they use strawmen like " why should the US police the world?", when the truth is this is a NATO/UN effort with France and Britain taking the lead. Or they use illogical points, like: "we didn't do anything in Rwanda, so why do something in Libya?", like we should always do what we did in the past... it makes no sense.

Believe you me, I've read *all* possible explanations, and the three listed above are the most cited ones. And they don't have any merit to them, as I've just explained.

"Follow the money" is not used as a conclusion to a well-documented post about how we could profit from this intervention. I would take that seriously. But no, it's used as a mere one-liner to shut up all critical thinking. Why are you talking about Afghanistan and Iraq? We know those were about oil. But it's not 2003 anymore, and Libya is not those two conflicts.
