I saw The Notebook for the first time on TV and I got why he was in three fairly good movies at once.

The Notebook is everything that is wrong with chick flicks. Mushy, sentimental, manipulative of emotions, etc.

But, once you view it start to finish, it owns you, if you are a romantic. It is the most "awww" movie ever. I think even Matt Lauer said he cried.

Every time after that, when some guy says, "I don't get the whole Ryan Gosling thing," my reply is, "Did you see The Notebook?"

As cynical as I am, I think everyone wants to believe in love that strong.

Glad you and your bride do.
