because he kissed up to private capital in general or Bain in particular.

Like many Democrats, both are sources of a lot of his campaign donations. If private equity capital were enabling you feed your kids, get rich and have a lot of power in the bargain, you'd love it, too.

Booker has earned a rep as a hero and he is backed by all the "right" people, literally and figuratively.

HHe is bi-partisan enough to have made a video with Christie that advances both their careers. And to make statements on MTP that prompt Romney's campaign to launch the "I stand with Cory" initiative.

Who could ask more of a New Democrat?

If Booker doesn't make at least Governor of New Jersey, I think it will be only because he will be African American in a post Obama era and Jersey has a lot of thugs.

That is not usually my go to rationale, but that is the only thing I can see standing in Booker's way in the New Democrat Party these days.
