1. Update:
The husband has been offered an early retirement package. We talked about it, and decided that he has to take it, given that he will probably be dumped if he doesn't.

It's a fairly decent offer, mainly because HP will continue to contribute to our insurance for two years. That gets me (the high maintenance one) that much closer to Medicare.

He hadn't planned on retiring at 62, but hopefully; he will be able to get some work elsewhere.

Who would have thought that working hard for 45+ years would have led to this? Anyway; whatever happens...happens. Life is an adventure, after all. We'll get to wherever we are going. :)
