Even if you subscribe to the absurd view that someone who makes 100 million has done twice as much "work" to deserve twice as much income as someone who makes 50 million, and that factors like luck and upbringing don't play a HUGE role in determining one's income, surely you would agree that the "injustice" of a rich person paying somewhat more in taxes is less problematic and less serious than at least 1000 other types of injustice that exist.

Of course there is some point between 0 and 100 where raising taxes is counterproductive. We aren't remotely close to it. The effective top tax rate (i.e., the rate actually paid by the average rich person) decades ago was in the 60s, and ours is currently at 35. If those in the top bracket wish to complain about their "confiscatory" 35 (or 40 or 45) percent taxation, they can cry me a river.
